Hamdi Ulukaya, founder of Chobani Yogurt Company, announced unexpectedly that he is giving 10% of his multi billion dollar business to his employees. Chobani has 2 factories and employs over 2000 people. They are being given stock options worth hundreds of thousands each.
When asked why he did this Hamdi Ulukaya said that it is his dream. That the employees, community, and country have been so good to him that he wants to give back. Hamdi Ulukaya is a great example of an ethical business person; he doesn’t put money ahead of values. I think we need more business leaders like Hamdi Ulukaya, who value the employees and community that facilitated his success.
